vExpert 2021 – I made it

Close to three months after applying for the vExpert 2021 program in November 2020, yesterday was the day when the new and renewed vExpert were announced.

Just under 2.100 applicants from 40+ countries received the email. Congratulations to all new and renewed vExperts!

I saw the tweet from VMware vExpert first

but had not received the email (yet) and I was not the only one. The tip was “check your spam folder” and I did and – found this nice email:

I am proud to be a first time vExpert.

I made it into the program because I had great help from an experienced vExpert – my TAM colleague Fred Hofer. Thank you, Fred!

Receiving my first vExpert certificate is a bit of bittersweet. It is the last one signed by Pat Gelsinger, VMware CEO.

He is stepping down today as our CEO and taking on the CEO role at Intel. Thank you, Pat, for all you have done as VMware CEO.

I am looking forward to being part of the vExpert community. First, I will have a look at all the options and possibilities provided by this great community. Getting to know and working with some of the vExperts will be great.
